Maureen!

Named after the song "Maureen" by Fountains of Wayne, this is more of a silly series compared to Oh Maria!

Story/Plot

Based in the 2000's, Maureen! is a series where a kid named Sketch (from the future,) teleports to the past in order to gather data and change the terrible future of society... Also, to protect Maureen, because if she dies too early on in this universe, earth will turn out how it did in the previous timeline. The government, scientist and other countries are trying to get a hold of him as quickly as possible due to him teleporting in the middle of New York City for everybody around to see. A teenage girl named Maureen takes him into her home to protect him since, well, she *feels* like she has to do something.

History of Maureen!

Made this back in late September or early October 2024. During that time, I had "Stacy's Mom" by the band Fountains of Wayne on repeat all throughout my trip to Hawaii. Then after a couple of days, I decided to just play some songs from the band, I listened to the song "Maureen" for the first time, and I thought it was awesome. Made a character based on the song.
The whole plot of this story came from a joke I made to my mom about the Scott Pilgrim series. It went something like, "It's called Scott Pilgrim because he's a pilgrim who accidentally went into the future and that girl with pink hair on the movie poster is trying to protect him from the government or whatever". I thought that concept was kind of interesting, and could actually be used for a story. So I kind of changed the story a bit, a lot, not sure, and came out with what Maureen! is now.
I made a lot of other characters based off of or named after songs by Fountains of Wayne, and some other bands.
